What
is the best compression possible using the dpsVelocity solution?
The video quality of the dpsVelocity-2D and 3D systems is truly extraordinary.
Because the dpsReality hardware can support data rates from very low all
the way up to totally uncompressed, dpsVelocity systems can edit and playback
a mixture of compressed and uncompressed video clips and For real time
dual stream playback, data rates up to 15 MB/s per stream are possible.
I
am a current DPS customer, can I use my current video files with dpsVelocity?
Yes, conversion tools are being developed to convert your current DPS
video files, into dpsVelocity’s native video file format.
What
tools are available for video capture?
dpsVelocity features Quick Capture which is used for on-the-fly capturing
of individual clips. RS422 control allows for fully integrated Batch Capture
and Batch ReCapture of multiple clips.
How
many layers can dpsVelocity handle in real time?
dpsVelocity is one of the most flexible systems available, handling up
to 5 layers of combined video, graphics, and titles in real time. One
of many example is the use of two layers of video (both of which have
speed changes and proc amp color corrections) transitioning behind, a
semi-transparent 32bit TGA with a keyframed PIP effect, and a crawling
title sliding across the screen…all in real time!
How
many real-time transitions are available in dpsVelocity?
There are over 200 2D and 200 3D predefined transitions in dpsVelocity.
With its intuitive and easy to use real time effect controls, dpsVelocity
offers unlimited possibilities for users wishing to create their own customizable
transitions and effects.
What
is the dpsVelocity Render Bank Technology?
The dpsVelocity’s advanced Render Bank Technology keeps track of rendered
segment information, and re-applies existing renders in order to eliminate
any unnecessary re-rendering.
What
editing features are available?
With dpsVelocity even the most complex three/four point edits are easy
to achieve with the intuitive advanced Trim Window interface. dpsVelocity
allows any editor to work in a comfortable fashion with multiple ways
to achieve many basic edit operations.
What
audio I/O does dpsVelocity support?
dpsVelocity systems using dpsReality cards support balanced, unbalanced
and CD input. With the optional Digital I/O, support for AES/EBU audio
is added.
How
many audio tracks does dpsVelocity handle in real-time?
dpsVelocity can preview and playback 4stereo pairs of audio in real time.
The software also features a real time multi-channel audio mixer, which
allows the adjustment of individual track volume while playing back the
complete production.
How
does dpsVelocity handle additional audio tracks?
We have taken into account that more than 4 stereo pairs of audio may
be required by a project at any given time. Therefore dpsVelocity features
automatic mix down of excess audio tracks, allowing them to be previewed
and played back in real time.
Can
I export to other external audio programs?
dpsVelocity uses standard system compatible WAV files. Any external program
that can manipulate WAV data is compatible with dpsVelocity.
Is
dpsVelocity compatible with third party software packages?
dpsVelocity comes bundled with Inscriber CG for real time rolling/crawling/still
titling capabilities and Sound Forge XP for audio sweetening. The dpsVelocity
rendering engine offers compatibility as a host to a variety of additional
plug-in packages, a complete plugin compatibility list will be available
soon.
Can
I use AVI, image sequence, or other multi-media file formats?
Yes dpsVelocity offers support for the following file formats: DPS, DVA,
AVI, WAV, BMP, DIB, FLI, FLC, GIF, JPG, PCX, PCT, TGA, SGI, IFF, VPB,
